The morning session, which concentrated on the use of IT in the classroom, included a keynote presentation and panel. Dr. David Stern's (Mount Sinai School of Medicine) keynote presentation highlighted on open educational resources for the use of teaching health profession students in developing countries. Panelists Dr. Richard Deckelbaum (Columbia University Medical Center), Dr. Madelon Finkel (Weill Cornell Medical College) and Dr. Stern further engaged participants with presentations on global health education training products, distance teaching, and institutional global health databases.
With a focus on the use of IT in the field, the afternoon session commenced with a keynote presentation by Dr. Ann Kurth (New York University School of Nursing) who presented on the use of information and communication technology tools in global health. The forum concluded with three concurrent workshops facilitated by Dr. Mark Foran (New York University School of Medicine), Dr. Lakshminarayanan Subramanian (New York University) and Dr. Oliver Fein (Weill Cornell Medical College), in conjunction with Susan Kane and Aidan Collins.
